She has been started. She is drying right now. I am finding the air dry clay a challenge when it comes to fine detail on faces. I have alot to learn with this clay but I find it to be a nice break when I want to do something differant from my polymer clay. As an artist, I feel it is good to try other mediums - you will always learn that way.
I am a little impatient when it comes to drying time -- I think Jim is impatient too and he is anxious for his woman.

Denise, I have sculpted a few pieces with air dry clay, however had the same problem as you. I have trouble getting the tiny detail I want that
ReplyDeletepolymer clay allows you to do. I also
get impatient for the piece/parts to dry.
I think for primitive or more simple pieces though the air dry clay is great and it is also so nice to paint on.
Hope Jim gets his lady soon!

I managed to figure out a speedy drying technique. I have her in a foil wrap, ends open and she is laying on top of my portable heater - those radiator looking heaters. not sure how much faster that will dry he, but it seems to be speeding it up a bit. gives me time to think of where to go next with her.
ReplyDeleteIts working really well to speed up her drying! However, poor thing, she's looking like a shish-ka-bob on a grill with her on top of this heater here.
